Karl Lagerfeld Debuts Lesbian Couture

In response to President Hollande’s plan to legalise gay marriage in France, Karl Lagerfeld debuted couture bridal gowns for lesbian couples during Chanel’s Spring Summer 2013 Haute Couture fashion collection. The crimped half-in-the-face tousled hairstyles and gowns showcasing layers of white, veil and trinkets was all just a little too Sweeney Todd for my taste, but the visual statement of the identical blushing brides definitely played up the current controversy! Would you opt for identical dresses in a same-sex marriage?

Fog

For the last few days, my neighbourhood has looked like a scene straight out of The Mist. The fog has been so dense and I guess the gray tones in the sky found it’s way into my outfit, paired with a soft floral!

Brisk

Winter is always the worst season for being stylish because it’s nearly impossible to be practical and fashionable at the same time. But luckily, the weather was a nice brisk temperature today and at the end of an otherwise gloomy day, the sun graced us with its presence for a few moments as it set – just enough time for a few quick photos! It just so happens that I was decked out in BR gear today – one of my most favourite brands.

Checkered

This is the first outfit of the day of the New Year, and I guess I was feeling inspired by Pantone’s colour choice! Unfortunately, daylight is precious in Vancouver these days so I was only able to snap a few shots at dusk!

Pantone’s Colour of the Year: Emerald Green

Pantone, the authority on colour has named Emerald Green the colour of the year and it couldn’t be a much more suitable choice for 2013! Green is often associated with vivacity and hope, perfect for the fresh start to Spring that’s just around the corner. Funny enough, I had acquired the nickname Emerald in the last year after I showed up to work in a green dress – guess I was just ahead of the trend!
