Ombre Stripes

Apparently I am atrocious at managing my outfit of the day posts because I can never seem to upload them on the day I actually wear them! Here’s an outfit from a few weeks back; whenever I’m feeling uninspired I always default back to black and white and the ombre stripes on this skirt adds just enough edge to an otherwise basic look!   DSCN1398-2 DSCN1434 DSCN1417

Heineken Ibiza Final 2013

Those who know me know that I have a peculiar hobby (or obsession). I like to enter contests and last month, I won yet another trip to Ibiza, Spain. What are the odds, given that I already won a trip to Ibiza in September 2012! I was only there for the weekend but the sponsor, Heineken, had made sure the two days were jam-packed with VIP activities and I can honestly say it was the best weekend of my life so far! We also got tons of swag including an iPod loaded with clubbing tracks and of course unlimited Heineken beer. The amazing weekend was captured in this 2 minute video, take a look:

Gorgeous view from Ibiza Corso Hotel & Spa

We had Grammy nominated DJ Paul van Dyk playing at the hotel club for a private party, no biggie!

There were 250+ people from over 40 different countries and it was so exciting to meet people from all over the world. Too bad the Irish boys weren’t on my boat!

Chilling on a boat with tray-passing, live DJ and gorgeous weather. Could life get any better? Well yes, because Rio Ferdinand from Manchester United made an appearance to play football with us, on an inflatable soccer field in the middle of the ocean (it was the Heineken Cup Final after all)!

Both celebrity guests (Rio Ferdinand and Paul van Dyk) were in attendance at the football screening, but to be honest I was much more interested in the buffet.      IMG_2597

It was also the grand opening of Ushuaia Club, celebrating the start of the summer season in Ibiza. I can safely say I’ve never been to such an intense and raging club; the party actually started at 1:00 pm that day and lasted until noon the next day! No wonder Ibiza is known as the clubbing capital of the world. This video pretty much sums up the night in 30 seconds:

We had an early flight to catch after leaving the club. In fact, we went back to the hotel just to shower and pack, and went straight to the airport with zero sleep. Although I got sick on the flight to Amsterdam (no doubt because I was still drunk), this was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and who knows if I’ll ever be this lucky again! Until next time…

It’s safe to say that this blog post is long overdue! Been a little M.I.A in the last two months mostly due to course work and well, life in general but I am going to make a much more conscious effort to blog from now on! Anyway,  this outfit of the day is more like outfit of sometime last month; I just haven’t had a chance to get these photos up until now. I think the ladybug print on this shirt-dress (now on sale at The Gap) is just the perfect touch of casual and fun for a sunny day!

Polka dots

Spring is finally here and I am so glad to trade in the ankle boots for pumps and open-toed wedges! I was recently looking at a Olivia Palmero fashion blog and decided to re-create one of her outfits. She paired navy polka dot skinnys with royal blue pumps effortlessly, and kept it casual with a cropped leather jacket. I think it’s the perfect look for those days you just want to dress a bit down but still look put-together, wish just a dash of colour!

Although spring technically isn’t until the 20th of this month, the sunshine we were blessed with over the weekend definitely felt like springtime is just around the corner! That is, until you stepped out of the sunshine. It certainly wasn’t warm enough for bare legs, which is why I opted for tights underneath my maxi dress and layered my spring pieces to create the perfect blend of warmth without feeling weighed down by the last fragments of winter!

All the craze this year seems to be over green. Precisely emerald green, or mint green (a la Katy Perry’s keyhole cut-out dress at the 2013 Grammys). But have we forgotten about neon green? I think this highlighter shade is the perfect pop of colour for an all black ensemble, and it’s sure to make you stand out (in a good way) amidst the February showers!

“Chastity and Perversity” – Tom Ford Spring 2013 Collection

The  ex-creative designer of Gucci and YSL certainly isn’t afraid to push boundaries and create shock value in his campaigns, and his new collection is just that. The sharp tailoring of Tom Ford’s designs reflects a dash of dominatrix (the leather knee-high sandal boot studded with gold hardware is clearly inspired by Fifty Shades), without losing the feminine essence of a Ford woman. I definitely wouldn’t mind a pair of those cuffs – ankle-cuff pumps that is! What are your thoughts on the collection?
